James Rivas
It's Just Dirt
James' collection has deep roots. It's inspired by his personal exploration of identity and heritage, and his story inspired us the moment we heard it. Driven by his desire to pass his culture to his daughter, Ava, James is starting a new chapter by starting Firstborn Ceramics.

A Note from James
"This collection has been influenced by James' heritage and the cultural interactions found in others of a similar lineage. Each piece deconstructs all of us in a matter, painting us as equals from a sedimentary perspective. Inspired from his African, Taino, and Cono tribe traditions, all have been constructed through lives and actions of James' ancestry.
With every purchase, Firstborn Ceramics will donate a portion of its sales to Win NYC. For more than 30 years, Win has provided safe housing, critical services, and ground-breaking programs to help homeless women and their children rebuild their lives and break the cycle of homelessness."
